Junior and senior delegates from Mutsu City, Japan visited Stevens Middle School in Port Angeles, Washington on January 7, 1998. They experienced American life styles and traditions and spent a great deal of time with Stevens students.

January 6, 1998 - Day 1

Overview: The delegation met at SeaTac International Airport. The group did some sight-seeing in Seattle and visited the Space Needle and Seattle museums. The delagation arrived in Port Angeles at 6:00 P.M. and the Junior ambassadors were shown the schedule for their stay and went home with their host families.

January 7, 1998 - Day 2

Overview: The junior ambassadors particapated in Steven's Middle School classes and the Student News Network. They all had student partners and joined them in their classes. The junior ambassadors lead a mini culture fair during 6th period. After school they visited downtown Port Angeles. There was a welcome dinner at Stevens for Mutsu City school officials and students, Peninsula International Relations Association members, and host families. In addition to dinner, they learned about a few Stevens activities such as the Macarana and the Stevens Stomp.

January 8, 1998 - Day 3

Overview: Over the Student News Network the Junior ambassadors said good-bye to Stevens. They then went on a tour of Port Angeles. They stopped by the City Hall and meet Mayor Ostrowski. The Olympic National Park Museum was another stop. The junior ambassadors drove to Silverdale to visit a large mall and eat lunch. Students spent the evening at a swim party where all Steven's students were invited.

January 9, 1998 - Day 4

Overview: The delegation spent the day in Victoria. Students visited the Royal Provincial Museum, the Parliament Building, and the Empress Hotel. When they returned to Port Angeles, they had a final good-bye party with presentations and speeches.

January 10, 1998 - Day 5

Overview: The ambassadors all meet at the Doubletree Inn and said "good-bye" to their American friends. They departed for Sea-Tac Airport, and from there, left for Narita.
